How to get a fishing rod in Skyrim

In Skyrim, there are several ways to obtain a fishing rod, the easiest of which is to locate one in a fishing spot. The first fishing spot you’ll come across is not far from Helgen’s introductory area, where you’ll meet either Ralof or Hadvar.

It’s immediately adjacent to the Standing Stone, a short distance north of where you started.

Then all you have to do is select a fishing spot and begin fishing

Of course, you can just manufacture a fishing pole for yourself if you’d rather show off your skills. You may make the rod by going to your nearest forge and utilizing 1 iron ingot and firewood (both of which are easy to get by or find on your adventures). Then all you have to do is select a fishing spot and begin fishing.

Here are some easy ways to get a Fishing Rod:

Check with local merchants and vendors to see whether they’re selling them.
Look around the Fishing Supplies locations to check whether there’s a rod nearby.
Make your way to the Riften Fishery (just outside the West wall of Riften itself). Not only will this serve as a hub for numerous fishing missions, but there’s a fishing rod on the dock outside and several more within the building that you may easily take.

How to fish in Skyrim

Once you’ve found a good fishing spot, you’ll need to equip a rod like you would a sword or a bow. Thankfully, you won’t need any bait because the spots dispersed across Skyrim will offer it for you.

With the rod equipped, interact with the fishing supplies. Your Dragonborn will automatically turn towards the water and cast their rod with bait attached.

The way each fish moves and bites on the line is different. A bass fish straining on the line, for example, may cause waves, but a river tiny tugs quietly. When the timing is right – often indicated by the vibration of your controller/mouse and the tug of your line – you must push the appropriate input (on PlayStation, this is the X button) and the fish will be automatically reeled in.

The fish is then put to your food inventory, where you may boil it into a wonderful supper, which is especially useful if you’re intending on playing in Survival Mode.

Aside from the six fish found in the base edition of Skyrim, there are now twenty more ones to catch, some of which may be caught by hand and others that require the use of a rod. Fish are associated with specific sorts of environments – freshwater, saltwater, lakes, rivers, and so on – and are influenced by the time of day, with more fish appearing at dawn and sunset.

Skyrim: Anniversary Edition lets you collect fish in your very own aquarium

In Skyrim, there are several ways to showcase fish in your home. You’ll be able to build aquariums in your Hearthfire homes in either Anniversary Edition or SSE as of November 11.

You can show fish in your home by first ensuring that the house you’re in will enable you to create a cellar extension, because aquariums and other such items can only be kept in the cellar.

Hearthfire residences and a few others, such as the house in Solitude, have a cellar expansion.

After you’ve built the cellar to your house, you’ll need to use the crafting table to make exhibits and aquarium cabinets. After that, you can proceed to the displays/aquarium cabinets and begin adding fish to them.

To catch some fish in Skyrim it will increase your chances to fish in the rain. If you don’t want to wait for the rain use the Storm Call shout to make it rain. Glassfish can be found when the weather is pouring.

Players can use the shout Clear Skies to disperse snow and rain prevalent in many of Skyrim’s terrains, as fishing on a clear and bright day increases the chances of pulling in more fish. The Dragonborn can earn all three words of power by completing the quest “Alduin’s Wall.”

Breed Fish In A Hatchery

Windstad Manor’s homestead Three Sawn Logs, three Quarried Stones, and four Nails are needed to build a fish hatchery.

After constructing the hatchery, any fish from Skyrim can be added to be bred. Once a fish has been inserted, it will spawn more fish of that species over time. These fish can be gathered for use in making potions, cooking food, or selling to local traders.

A slaughterfish egg can be deposited in the Fish Hatchery at Windstad Manor to produce non-hostile slaughterfish and respawning egg nests.
