How To Open Locked Doors In ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ (Level 1, 2 And 3 Locks)
As you may have guessed, this does come down to a spell. That would be Alohomora, known as the Unlocking Charm.
When touring the castle and Hogsmeade in Hogwarts Legacy, one of the first things you’ll notice is that there are a lot of locked doors. Even if Levels 2 and 3 locks are also present as you move along, it feels like everything is protected by something that is classified as a “Level 1 lock.”
It is dependent on moving forward in the primary questline and is unrelated to any of the side quests, where professors occasionally assign you small chores to help you learn new skills. The spell will eventually appear in a Mr. Moon-related mission where you’ll need to use it to unlock doors; after that, it will always be available to you.
Once you acquire Alohomora, all you need to do is equip it and head to the locked door you’re attempting to unlock. You will then need to play a little lockpicking minigame for each door because it won’t immediately spring open. In this, there are rotating rings that need alignment. When the red light ring is in the proper position, one joystick will cause the gears in the center to spin. When the green light ring is in the proper position, it will rotate the outside gears and move the gears on the bottom right, which is controlled by the opposite joystick. Keep the sticks in position until all the gears are turning, at which point the door will unlock.
