How to respec and reset stats in Elden Ring

Elden Ring Walkthroughs

Where do you find Larval Tears In Elden Ring?

You made a mistake, admit it. Because of certain erroneous stat allocation, you’ll need to know how to respec your character in Elden Ring quickly.

Larval Tears, an uncommon consumable item found exclusively in cursed regions and on deviously hidden opponents, are required to restore your stats to their default state.

Everything you need to know about Elden Ring’s respec system, including where to find Larval Tears, is right here.

In Elden Ring, how do you respec?
First and foremost, you cannot respec in Elden Ring until you have killed Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, the shard-bearing boss in Raya Lucaria.

After you’ve claimed her Rune of the Unborn, you can visit her in the Grand Library at any time to obtain a repsec and have your stats reset to default.

However, Larval Tears, a rare and precious resource, are required to power the change.

Where do you find Larval Tears in Elden Ring?

Larval Tear is a Key Item in Elden Ring. Larval Tear Material needed by Rennala to grant rebirth.

Core of a creature of mimicry known as a silver tear.
As much as a substance as it is a living organism.
Material required by the amber egg cradled by Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, to birth people anew.
Being born anew allows the reallocation of attributes boosted by leveling up.

The Village of the Albinaurics, located southwest of the Liurnia of the Lakes area, north of Stormveil Castle, is the best site to look for a Larval Tear.

You may have already traveled to this location in search of the Royal Remains set, one of the best early-game armors.

As you enter the settlement, you’ll notice a ghostly figure standing beside a well. Take a right before reaching the figure, and you’ll find a small graveyard littered with the prostrate dead of Albinaurics.

A second Larval Tear site is closer to where you start Elden Ring, although it’s a lot harder to find.
There’s an unassuming zombie-style enemy on top of a cliff at the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace, southeast of The First Step. He’s located just east of the Grace Site.

When you attack him, he transforms into a massive, vicious bear. Even if you’re already powerful enough to defeat Rennala, you’ll need to have your wits about you when fighting the bear.

Its attacks deal a lot of damage and it moves quickly, so it’s best to saddle up and whittle it down with a series of ride-by stabbings.

How many times can you respec in Elden Ring?

Because Larval Tears are so rare, you must be absolutely certain of what you’re doing before committing to a stat reset.

I’ve personally discovered the two Larval Tears mentioned above, but there are rumours of at least one more hidden somewhere in The Lands Between.
