So how do we share Xbox Game Pass with our family?
Designate a home Xbox
When you save your password on an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One for the first time, that system becomes your home Xbox. Other users who join in with their profile on your home Xbox can share games and content with you.
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.
- Do either of the following to change the status of your Xbox:
- To make this your home Xbox, select Make this my home Xbox.
- To remove this console as your home Xbox, select Make this my home Xbox and then Remove this as my home Xbox.
Your digital game licenses have two access points: your home Xbox, and your gamertag.
You can download and play your digital games on any Xbox you sign in to with your gamertag.
What can you share?
Share the following with everyone that logs in to your home Xbox:
Games and downloadable content from the Microsoft Store with an Xbox Live Gold subscription Games from an Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription
Xbox Game Pass – 3 Month Membership
So how do we share Xbox Game Pass Ultimate With Family?
In my case I just purchased a brand new Xbox X series and wanted to pass down my Xbox One to my son. On the Xbox One (the Xbox you want to share Game Pass with) make this the home Xbox. Since I was already using this Xbox and sign into it all we had to do was let my son log on with his gamertag.
Now on my Xbox X I simply log on with my account and I have access to Game Pass and can download and play games online.
My Primary Xbox Console is not set as the home Xbox, only I have access to Game Pass and Xbox Live. On the secondary Xbox console this one is set to my Home Xbox and Everyone who plays on this console will have access to my Game Pass and Xbox Live.
Let me clarify why only one person in your household requires Xbox Game Pass. This is due to the fact that Xbox Game Pass can be shared. Everyone who signs onto your Xbox as your Home Xbox will be able to play the titles you’ve downloaded from Xbox Game Pass if you own Game Pass.
